Meet Mrs. Black

    Reading at Barnes and Noble

Hello, I am Mrs. Black, formally known as Ms. Dahl. I am so excited to start another year at Target Range School and be part a great Kindergarten team. I am thrilled to be your child’s kindergarten teacher and cannot wait to meet everyone. It’s going to be a fun year for a place of growing knowledge and new adventures.  As most of you know I will not be joining you on the first few months of school. I will be home with my new born baby boy Zane until Thanksgiving. I look forward to getting to know each one of you upon my return. I want to know all about you, but first here are a few things about me.

I was born in WA State and moved around a couple times before I landed in Missoula, MT, this is where I call home. This will be my third year teaching kindergarten and my fourth year at Target Range, where I taught third grade previously. I have a passion to teach young children and help them experience new ways to learn. I have enjoyed working at Spirit at Play Preschool in the past and I know I will be able to bring a lot of the caring environment I provided there into my own classroom. I have my Bachelors in education from the University of Montana, with an early childhood concentration. I am currenlty in my last year of graduate school. I will be receiving an Intergrated Arts & Education degree from the University of Montana. I plan to graduate May 2018. Go GRIZ!

I love the outdoors regardless of the weather conditions. I have three great dogs and a wonderful wife who take up a lot of my spare time. You can often find us happily hiking a local mountain in the evenings, or at the dog park, we love to swim! I not have a beautiful baby boy who takes all of my spare moments and our whole family is perfectly in love with him. I am excited to get to know you and your children and find out what you all like to do with your spare time.

This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up. Even while I am gone for the first couple of months, please let my sub replacement know if you would like to contact me. I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers. Please feel free to call (406) 549-9239, ext: 260 or email me anytime you have a questions or concern.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer vacation and are as eager as I am for the start of a wonderful new year. I know our class will be an environment where we all will learn grow and succeed daily. We will share new ideas and adventures daily, learn to care about our school, classroom, and all our new friends. See you soon!
